I started my project my painting a very light Emerald Green Brusho wash over some Water colour paper. Once dry I stamped the Funny Fungi image and some sentiments onto my coloured background using Versafine black ink.

I wanted to give my Fungi some vibrant colours so used a fine paint brush to apply some Brusho Acrylic mists (they can be used for more than just spritzing)

Next I mixed some Soft Form relief paste with some copper brusho acrylic mist and applied it with a dotting tool around the tops of the fungi. I like how this almost brings them to life.

While the soft form relief paste was still on my craft table I used the edge of a palette knife to apply some accents around one of the sentiments and in a couple of additional places.

Lastly I added a thin black edge to the paper to frame my project.

Thank you for stopping by, If you want to be in with a chance of wining the prize you need to leave comments on the designers blogs

Botanical Bliss - Tattered Lace Launch

Hello crafty friends, today I am sharing some cards made with the up and coming launch from Tattered Lace dies

The dies I have used are from the Silhouette collections, there is a link at the end of the post to the items on Create and Crafts website.

There are 3 dies in the collection and I think that inspired me to create 3 different cards with each die.

The first three cards I created are in a blue and white colour pallet, keeping a clean and fresh feel.

I used distress inks to create a light background.

My second batch of cards were created with Distress Oxide sunset backgrounds and black die cut images and apertures.

My last lot of cards have a vintage feel and were created using the matching charisma images.

Hopefully I have shown that the die's can be used in several ways to give different looks.

Here's the link to the die collection

You can watch the launch tomorrow evening at 7pm with Carley Duff and Dean Wilson.

Paperbabe Stamp Challenge #66 DT Project

Today we have a new challenge over at the Paperbabe Stamps blog and this time around it's a theme challenge!

The theme is
"dots"

To help inspire you I have created a Mixed media MDF portrait.

I coloured all of the pieces in acrylic paint, I kept it simple, no shading or highlights. I then stamped the facial features and heat embossed them with clear matt dull embossing powder from WOW embossing.

I added the dots using the polka dot mixed media stencils. I applied distress oxide through them using a blending tool and then added embossing powder over the top to give a subtle finish.

The items I used are linked below, the links take you diret to each item on the Paperbabe store.

Now for the fun part, get creative and join in with the challenge and you could be winning a super prize from Paperbabe stamps.

Bobbin Street dies launch - DT makes

Todays post is something a little different, I was asked to make some samples for a new range of dies that are launching tomorrow from Bobbin Street.

I'm not the best sewist but I do like to have a go, below are some of the project I made and links to the products used.

I started off with a simple applique using the buttefly from the new launch. This was a very simple die cut and stitch type of project. I did however add some little stitches to look like a trail.

This project was one of my biggest samples and took a lot of hand stitching I used the English Paper Piecing die set 2. I had never Paper pieced with fabric before and this took a while but I am really happy with how it turned out.

After getting the hang of English paper piecing I decided to up my game and try something even more adventurous......why do I do this to myself?

I found some pictures of Moravian star ornaments and thought I can do that. 60 individual English paper pieced diamonds later and my fingers almost fell off, lol

It is around 6" tall and took me roughly 5 evenings of stitching to complete.

To give me fingers a little rest I decided to use the diamond shape dies to create some mini bunting adorned with bows and buttons.

Lastly I used the applique butterfly to embellish a simple tote bag.

The dies are so versatile as you can cut both paper and fabric with them.
